Our house is situated at city of Pag ( 2.700 inhabitants ) on the island Pag, it is situated 700 meter from the center of the city and 300 meter from the main city beach. We offer you appartments for 2 and 4 person with a kitchen, bathroom and balcony.

The city of Pag is surrounded with lots of small and diverse sandy and stony beaches. It is cultural centre of the island and was built by the sculptor Juraj Dalmatinac in the 15th century. There are many historical buildings which testify it's persistancy through the time such as the Cathedral and the church of St. Margaret, Rector's Palace, town walls, the Old Tower and so on. During the Middle Ages Pag was the city of prosperity - thanks to the production of salt. The bay of Pag consists of 27 km of sandy beaches. However, the island of Pag is also rich with beaches on its outer parts. There are beautiful beaches in Stara Novalja, Novalja, Šimuni, Košljun, Povljana, Smokvica, Vlašići, but also far away from the villages, like in Goriška Draga, Mali Zaton, Veli Zaton, Malin, Baška slana. The largest beach of all is the beach Zrče, near Novalja. It also has the most diverse offer which includes catering and entertainment establishments which are open all night long. The beach Sveti Duh (Holy Spirit) is very beautiful and especially interesting, being the only beach on the island that has sandy sea bed. The fine, soft and very pleasant sand on this beach spreads even 50 meters from the shore, therefore we recommend Sveti Duh to the families with children.

The main beach of the town of Pag is Prosika which hosts several thousands of swimmers in the summer. It is located not far from the town. It is possible to rent beach paddles, canoes, ski jets; to play volley ball on sand or simply enjoy an ice-cream and a soda in one of the beach bars. There is a big parking area behind the beach. In the cove Slana reigns almost mystical silence, only once and a while interrupted by the cries of the seagulls and eagles from the surrounding cliffs. The sea is fresh, the beach is pleasant for sunbathing and we recommend it to the individuals that prefer to be alone on the beach. The beach Malin is a sandy beach located in so called Paška vrata (the Gate of Pag). There is a water spring nearby. Sailors are recommended to go to the beaches on the west and east parts of the island, near the villages Šimuni, Povljana and Smokvica, for example. The beaches in Goriška Draga, Malin, Mali Zaton, Veli Zaton and Baška slana can be reached only by boats. On the other hand, the beaches Zrče, Sveti Duh, Šimuni and Povljana are reachable also by car. The beaches on the island are mostly sandy. Other, rocky beaches, exist only on the west side of the island, near the villages Varsan, Dudići, Jakišnica, Potočnica and Tovarnele.

The island of Pag is one of the biggest Adriatic islands: it is the fifth largest island with 284.50 square kilometres. Its 270 kilometres of the indented coastline make it the island with the longest coastline on the Adriatic, rich with coves, bays, beaches and capes. The biggest bay, the bay of Pag, is rounded by 20 km of the gravel beaches. Pag is unique due to its vegetation where trees are the most rare form. Therefore, Pag is the largest kingdom of rocky ground on the Adriatic, where thin grass, low aromatic herb cover, sage and immortelle grow. They make the foundation of the nourishment of the island’s sheep on the rocky ground, intersected by long dry stonewalls, giving a special flavour to the well known cheese of Pag. The gastronomy of the island offers first class sheep cheese and lamb, as well as various seafood specialities. Pag is the town of the sea salt. The importance of the salt was the main reason that Pag was constructed in the 15th century, according to a plan and as a fortified town. The original salt manufacture by draining of the sea, which is brought in the small clay pools (saline), is still present on the island. These salt pools are not only an authentic relict of the past but also an interesting photographic motif. The island of Pag offers unusual shapes, wild exoticism, gentle oasis, hiking trails and shallow bays. Visiting all these places might last even several days. Going round the north side of the island is recommended strictly during the summer, when everyone with even a little bit of investigator mentality would experience an unforgettable adventure away from the throng, in a particular world of the rocks and the sea.
